Colors!!!

Red, and orange, yellow, green
Shiny blue, purple too!
All the colors that I know
Live up in the rainbow!

We've been reviewing all of our colors this week. Each day we've picked a different color, and had the chance to cut construction paper and tissue paper, glue the paper, pom poms, pipe cleaners, etc and stick stickers of that color onto our collages!  The final product will not be ready until next week, so we will send it home then!

We've also been decorating a giant rainbow for the classroom!

We have been practicing our colors other ways, too.  We have been matching pom poms and pegs..

matching colored pegs to colored pictures...

coloring with chalk...

playing with colorful manipulatives...

and even playing twister!!

Our favorite books about colors:
"The Deep Blue Sea" by Audrey Wood
"litte blue and little yellow" by Leo Lionno
"What am I?" by N.N. Charles
"Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stohl Walsh

We also have been reviewing our aleph bet...

had fun with Morah Danit...

We have been so busy preparing for our party next week! We hope you can make it: Tuesday, 10:30 am!

Shabbat Shalom!

Happy Shavuot!

We finished preparing for Shavuot today. The children are excited to bring home the Har Sinai's they made, and to use their Shavuot placemats.

We glued brown construction paper that the children cut onto bowl, then added "flowers" of tissue paper, and a Torah on top!

We discussed how we eat dairy food on Shavuot, and glued dairy foods onto paper to make special Shavuot placemats.

We also "planted" flowers in the sensory bin..

danced with the Torahs in front of the Aron Kodesh we made last week...

practiced our colors by matching flowers...

 painting Har Sinai with watercolors...

and making flower gardens with stickers.

We also had Rosh Chodesh club, where we put our tzedakah in a big tzedakah box, and made edible Torahs on Har Sinai.

We have also been busy preparing for our end of the year show.  We have been learning the first letter of our names, which we painted and decorated with sequins.  We then marble painted paper. Wait until you see the final project!

We don't want to ruin any surprises, but we are working on our costumes for our show...

We've also enjoyed hanging with our friends...

and blowing bubbles outside.

I want to send a special shout out to Jakey, who came to school today in his red nose!  We taught the kids about red nose day, and about the importance of giving tzedakah to children in need, like we do in davening every day.  He inspired some of the other children to don red noses, as well!

Have a wonderful Shavuot and Shabbat Shalom!

Shavuot is coming!

We started learning about Shavuot this week.  We have been talking about how special the Torah is, and some of the Mitzvot in it, and how Hashem chose Har Sinai because he was humble.

We practiced counting to 5 by putting flowers on Har Sinai, and counting petals on flowers.

We decorated a vase with tissue paper and water, then added flowers made from pipe cleaners and tissue paper.

We colored Har Sinai and stamped flowers on it.

Then we decorated a big Har Sinai to hang on the wall.  We stamped flowers onto Har Sinai, and cut paper grass to glue on.

We dot painted flowers, and stamped flowers on Har Sinai.

We made an Aron Kodesh to put our Torah in. First we painted it brown...

then painted the curtain to cover it.

We put a crown an belt on the Torah, and can't wait for it all to dry so we can put the Torah in the Aron tomorrow.

We have also been playing dominoes with pictures about Shavuot.

And when we weren't learning about Shavuot, we were...
building with blocks...

playing outside...

having puppet shows...

dot painting...

and preparing for our end of the year show!

Have a great Shabbos!
